Britain’s Prince Harry and his wife Meghan are set to make their first joint public appearance in the United Kingdom this week since returning to the country in late August, British media reported on Sunday, according to AFP.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to visit Nottingham in central England on Thursday, according to several British publications, including The Sunday Times, CE Report quotes AGERPRES.

The city holds particular significance for the couple, as it was the location of their first public appearance together following the announcement of their engagement in 2017.

Since returning to the UK with their two children, Archie and Lilibet, after spending six years in the United States, Harry and Meghan have largely stayed out of the media spotlight.

However, Harry, the younger son of King Charles III, has undertaken several public engagements on behalf of charities he supports or sponsors.

Meghan, meanwhile, has continued working on her lifestyle brand.

On Sunday, the duchess shared a photograph on Instagram showing her having tea with Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai to mark the International Day of the Girl Child.

Harry and Meghan left Britain in 2020 amid tensions with the royal family and subsequently stepped down as working members of the monarchy.

Shortly after their return to the UK, Buckingham Palace emphasized that their charitable engagements would be carried out in a private capacity.

During their upcoming visit to Nottingham, the couple are expected to visit three local organizations that support young people through music, cinema and sport while also working to combat poverty, according to The Sunday Times.

Citing a source close to Harry and Meghan, the newspaper also reported that the couple would not be invited to the royal family’s traditional Christmas gathering at King Charles III’s Sandringham residence in eastern England.

Instead, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly planning to spend the Christmas holidays in California.
