Eurowings launches direct Berlin–Sarajevo flights
An aircraft operated by Eurowings landed at Sarajevo International Airport in the morning hours, officially opening a direct route between the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Berlin.
The aircraft was welcomed with a traditional “water salute,” and among the passengers on board was Bosnia and Herzegovina’s ambassador to Germany, Damir Arnaut, CE Report quotes FENA.
On the occasion of the official launch of the route, Sarajevo Mayor Samir Avdić also commented on the development.
“This airline route has multiple benefits for Sarajevo. In addition to strengthening the city’s tourism potential, it creates opportunities for the development of business cooperation, investments, and better connections with our twin cities in Germany. The City of Sarajevo will continue to support initiatives that contribute to improved international connectivity and the promotion of Sarajevo as an attractive European destination,” Avdić said.
