EasyJet launches additional Ljubljana-London service
An additional Ljubljana-London service will be launched in October as the British low-cost airline EasyJet is to operate flights between the Slovenian capital and London Luton Airport as part of its winter schedule.
The new service will fly three times a week, and tickets are already available for purchase, CE Report quotes The Slovenia Times.
London Luton will be the fourth destination in the UK operated by EasyJet from the Slovenian capital, as the carrier's Ljubljana services also provide direct flights to London Gatwick Airport, Manchester and Edinburgh, the Ljubljana airport operator Fraport Slovenija noted.
According to EasyJet's UK Country Manager Kevin Doyle, Ljubljana is becoming an increasingly popular destination. The airline is confident that the new service will be popular with passengers looking to discover something different at affordable prices.
The inaugural flight is scheduled for 26 October, and from then on the service will run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. One-way ticket prices start at £33, or some €36, and most of the flights are priced below €100.
The announcement comes as Ljubljana airport is entering one of the strongest summer seasons in recent years, with a total of 24 airlines providing 30 direct connections.
A new service by Wizz Air between Ljubljana and Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro, is expected to be launched at the beginning of June, and Flydubai has announced it will resume Ljubljana-Dubai flights on 24 May after suspending them due to the Middle East crisis. Lufthansa flights to Munich will also be back in June.
