Albania's Velipoja unveils transformed summer landscape

This summer, Albania's Velipoja reveals a completely different landscape of increased public spaces, adherence to distancing, order, and safety signage, CE Report quotes ATA.

The Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, stated today that this makes this coastal line a preferred choice for foreign tourists, locals, and Kosovar Albanians who are its annual loyal visitors.

Kumbaro shared opinions from tourists who chose Velipoja, who appreciate the public spaces, cleanliness, and maritime safety.

"Every 200 linear meters there are public beaches. We have options to choose from," said one tourist.

Velipoja is considered one of the widest sandy beaches in Albania and continues to be one of the most frequented destinations by local and foreign tourists during the summer season.

With over 14 kilometers of coastline, Velipoja offers a rare combination of sea, river, delta with islands, hills, forest, lagoon, and fields, making it attractive to visitors in every season.

The increase in public spaces and better beach management have significantly contributed to the rise in tourist numbers this year.

About 60% of the beaches in Shkodra municipality are public and are being maintained as part of the national operation "Clean Beaches," which is being carried out for the fourth consecutive year with the support of the National Coastal Agency.
