The tourist taxes many Italian local authorities impose on visitors will raise a record 1.186 billion euros this year, up 15.8% on the 1.024 billion raked in in 2024.

The JFC Tourist Tax Observatory said in a new report, CE Report quotes ANSA.

Last year's tourist-tax revenues were up 29.1% on the 793.5 million euros generated in 2023, it said.

The report said the number of local authorities imposing a tourist tax has risen to 1,389 this year.
