Moldova urges students studying abroad to return and support European integration

Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov met with students from the Republic of Moldova who are studying abroad and spending their holidays in the country.

The meeting was attended by members of the League of Students Originating from the Republic of Moldova (LSORM), CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

The discussions focused on opportunities for students to return to Moldova after completing their studies, the country’s European integration path and ways young Moldovans can contribute to the European integration process, including from abroad.

“Thousands of young people are studying at universities in various countries around the world and are true ambassadors of the Republic of Moldova,” Gherasimov said.

She noted that she spoke with some of the students spending the summer at home and discussed the benefits of returning to Moldova after completing their studies abroad, the country’s progress on its path toward the European Union, and how they can support Moldova’s European integration even from a distance.

Gherasimov encouraged the students to maintain their ties with their homeland, remain actively involved in Moldova’s political and social life and, whenever possible, promote the country’s image abroad.
