Bosnian youth showcase talent at European Junior Olympiad in Informatics

At the 10th European Junior Olympiad in Informatics (EJOI 2026), held from July 24 to 30 in Kaunas, Lithuania, young informatics students from Bosnia and Herzegovina made their debut at this prestigious competition.

For the members of the Bosnian team, the event provided a valuable opportunity to gain international experience, exchange knowledge with peers from across Europe, and find additional motivation for future challenges.

Upon their return to Sarajevo, they received a ceremonial welcome at Sarajevo International Airport in recognition of their hard work, dedication, and distinguished representation of their country, CE Report informs via the Sarajevo Canton's official Facebook page.

The participation of the Bosnian team and its delegation leader at the European Junior Olympiad in Informatics was financially supported by the Ministry of Education of Sarajevo Canton.

Minister Naida Hota-Muminović emphasized the importance of international competitions for developing the knowledge, skills, and potential of talented students.

"International competitions give students the opportunity to measure their knowledge against peers from different countries, build self-confidence, exchange experiences, and form friendships that further motivate them to continue learning and improving. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to the parents, mentors, team leaders, and the Informatics Olympiad Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose dedicated work helps identify and nurture the talents of our students. The Ministry will continue to support programs that open the door to international competitions and new development opportunities for gifted students," Minister Hota-Muminović said.
