Croatia shines at 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad with bronze medal

The most successful Croatian participant at the 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad was Emanuel Bajamić from Split, who won a bronze medal, while Patrik Cvetek, also from Split, and Hrvoje Valent, Maša Dobrić, and Martin Vidović from Zagreb received honourable mentions, CE Report quotes HINA.

During the two-day competition in Sunshine Coast, Australia, the secondary school contestants tackled six highly challenging problems in algebra, combinatorics, geometry, and number theory, the Croatian Mathematical Society said.

The Olympiad took place from 10 to 20 July, featuring 630 participants from 110 countries.

The Croatian team’s travel and preparation were financed by the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth.

The most successful teams at the competition were from China, followed by the USA and South Korea.
