NASA Astronauts Safely Return to Earth After Extended ISS Mission

A SpaceX Dragon capsule carrying NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Barry "Butch" Wilmore safely splashed down off Florida's coast on Tuesday, after spending over nine months aboard the International Space Station (ISS), CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

Also onboard were NASA astronaut Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov, who returned alongside Williams and Wilmore. The successful splashdown marks the conclusion of a mission that far exceeded its initial timeline.

The four astronauts began their return journey early Tuesday, undocking from the ISS at 1:05 a.m. local time (0505 GMT). After a 17-hour journey, they safely reached Earth.
