Ivan Ivanov named ITF Junior World champion
Ivan Ivanov received the 2025 International Tennis Federation junior world champion award at the World Tennis Champions Awards ceremony at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London on Sunday.
Ivanov is the first Bulgarian tennis player to receive the prestigious International Tennis Federation award in this category, CE Report quotes BTA.
Last season, Ivanov won the boys’ singles titles at Wimbledon and the US Open, becoming the first player since Tseng Chun-hsin in 2018 to win two junior Grand Slam titles in one season. He also became only the second Bulgarian to win a junior Grand Slam title after Grigor Dimitrov and reached the Roland Garros semi-finals.
Besides the two Grand Slam trophies, Ivanov also won a J300 tournament in France and reached the final of a J500 event in Milan, Italy. His consistent results kept him at the top of the junior world ranking for an impressive 47 weeks.
In May 2025, Ivanov won his first men’s title at a tournament in Hungary, and in September he made his Davis Cup debut for Bulgaria in the victory over Finland, the Bulgarian Tennis Federation said.
