Jannik Sinner wins ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Monte Carlo

Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner has won the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Monte Carlo after defeating Carlos Alcaraz 2–0 in sets (7–6(5), 6–3) in the final.

With this victory, Sinner returns to the world No. 1 position in the ATP rankings, CE Report quotes MIA.

This is Sinner’s first clay-court title at a Masters 1000 level. He will also begin his 67th week as world No. 1 starting from today.

The Italian extended his winning streak at Masters tournaments, securing his fourth title after previous victories in Paris (Bercy), Indian Wells, and Miami.

In the first set, Alcaraz earned an early break to lead 2–0, but Sinner immediately reduced the gap to 2–1. In the tie-break, the Italian converted his second set point. In the second set, Alcaraz again made the first break for a 2–1 lead in games, but after 3–2 for his opponent, Sinner won four consecutive games, closing the set 6–3 and sealing a straight-sets victory.
