Kosovo star’s birthday message tied to historic match

The Football Federation of Kosovo (FFK) congratulated national team star Edon Zhegrova on his birthday through a motivational message on social media.

In its message, the FFK used a symbolic and sporting tone, emphasizing that the birthday cake will be enjoyed as a dessert after today’s historic match between Kosovo and Türkiye, implying that the real celebration is linked to success on the field, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

“The plan was to cut the cake at lunch… but we left it as ‘dessert’ after the match. Because the real celebration starts then,” the FFK wrote.

The message continues with an inspiring element, raising the question of Zhegrova’s wish while blowing out the candles. According to the FFK, his wish is simple yet big — qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
