Albanian football stars shake up January transfer window
The January transfer window brought numerous changes for several players of the Albanian national team, who chose to continue their careers in different European leagues and beyond, seeking more playing opportunities and new sporting goals.
The most high-profile transfer was that of midfielder Kristjan Asllani, who left Torino to join the Turkish club Beşiktaş, CE Report quotes ATA.
The move was completed with the approval of Inter, the club that owns the Albanian player’s registration rights.
After a month of negotiations, the agreement was officially confirmed just one day before the transfer window closed.
Forward Rei Manaj also returned to Turkey, ending his stint with Al Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates and deciding to continue his career with Sivasspor, a club he had previously played for.
Another notable move was that of Anis Mehmeti, who left Bristol City to join Ipswich Town, a club with clear ambitions to gain promotion to the Premier League this season.
Defender Klisman Cake left Shkëndija Tetovë to take on a new challenge in the Russian league, signing with Akhmat Grozny, marking an important step in his professional career.
