PSG, Atlético Madrid secure places in Champions League semi-finals
PSG and Atlético Madrid have secured places in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League after the second-leg quarter-final matches played last night.
European champions PSG also won the return leg against Liverpool at Anfield 2–0, advancing with a 4–0 aggregate score and eliminating the English champions. Both goals were scored by Ousmane Dembélé in the 72nd and 90+1 minutes.
In the semi-finals, PSG will face the winner of the Bayern–Real Madrid tie (first leg 2–1), CE Report quotes MIA.
In the all-Spanish clash, Atlético Madrid eliminated Barcelona after losing 2–1 at home, but progressing 3–2 on aggregate. Barcelona took the lead through Lamine Yamal in the 4th minute, and in the 24th minute, Atlético’s advantage from the first leg was cancelled when Ferran Torres scored to make it 2–0 for the Catalans. Atlético’s goal came in the 31st minute, scored by Ademola Lookman.
There were no further goals, but Barcelona’s Eric García was sent off.
Atlético Madrid will face the winner of the Arsenal–Sporting tie (first leg 1–0) in the semi-finals.
Tomorrow at 21:00, the second-leg quarter-final matches Bayern–Real Madrid and Arsenal–Sporting will be played.
