Snoop Dogg carries Olympic flame in Italy

Snoop Dogg was the “major international guest” long expected in Gallarate (Varese) to carry the Olympic Flame.

Rumors of the American rapper’s possible appearance as a torchbearer — as had already happened in Paris — had been circulating for days, without any official confirmation of his participation, CE Report quotes ANSA.

The mystery was revealed this morning in Piazza Libertà, when Snoop Dogg arrived to a warm welcome from large crowds, including around 3,000 students from schools across the city, as well as artificial snow sprayed over the square to create a true Winter Olympics atmosphere.

Snoop Dogg and the other torchbearers were welcomed by Regional Councillor for Culture Francesca Caruso and Gallarate Mayor Andrea Cassani.

The Olympic Flame then continued its journey toward Busto Arsizio (Varese).
