Moldova sends five athletes to 2026 Winter Olympic Games

The Republic of Moldova will have five athletes at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milano-Cortina, scheduled for February 6–22.

Moldova’s team consists of biathletes Alina Stremous, Pavel Magazeev, and Maksim Makarov, and skiers Iulian Luchin and Elizaveta Hlusovici, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

Four of them will compete on February 10, while Alina Stremous will have her first event on February 11, competing in the 15 km individual race.

The Milano-Cortina Olympic Games will bring together over 3,000 athletes from nearly 100 countries, competing in 116 events across 16 winter sports, including biathlon, skiing, skating, hockey, and snowboarding. The competition will also mark the Olympic debut of ski mountaineering.

The opening ceremony will take place on February 6 at San Siro Stadium in Milan, and the closing ceremony is scheduled for February 22 at the Arena in Verona. In Moldova, the event will be broadcast on Moldova 1.
