Former Man. United star leaves South Korea
Former Manchester United and England national team midfielder Jesse Lingard will leave his current club in the South Korean league, FC Seoul, next week, BBC reported.
The 32-year-old midfielder joined the club on a free transfer in February 2024 and has recorded 66 matches and 18 goals for the “Dark Red Warriors.” CE Report quotes BTA.
The Englishman will play his final match for the team on Wednesday against Australia’s Melbourne City in the AFC Champions League.
“The time I spent in South Korea was incredible — the football, the atmosphere, and the passion around this club were at the highest level. The love, support, and appreciation you have shown me over these two years were truly amazing. I will always be grateful for the opportunity to play for such a great team,” Lingard wrote on his Instagram profile.
“He brought an unprecedented level of attention and became a symbolic figure not only for the club but for the entire K League,” FC Seoul wrote.
The Manchester United academy product, who has 232 appearances for the “Red Devils,” has not yet confirmed where he will continue his career.
Lingard also has 32 caps for the England national team, in which he has scored 6 goals.
