UEFA to hold Round of 16 draws for three competitions
The Round of 16 matchups in the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League will be determined in the draw to be held tomorrow.
At the draw to be held at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, not only the Round of 16 matchups but also the potential quarterfinal and semifinal pairings will be determined.
The draw for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, in which Galatasaray will compete, will take place at 14:00 (TSI). The Turkish side will face either Tottenham Hotspur or Liverpool FC in the Round of 16, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.
In the Champions League, Arsenal FC, FC Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Tottenham, FC Barcelona, Chelsea FC, Sporting CP and Manchester City FC advanced directly to the Round of 16. The other teams reaching this stage after winning their playoff ties are Real Madrid CF, Paris Saint-Germain, Newcastle United FC, Atlético Madrid, Atalanta BC, Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Galatasaray and Bodø/Glimt.
The first legs of the Round of 16 will be played on March 10–11, with the return legs on March 17–18.
Europa League draw
The draw for the UEFA Europa League Round of 16, which Fenerbahçe SK will enter if they overturn a 3–0 first-leg defeat against Nottingham Forest, will begin at 15:00 (TSI).
In the Europa League, Olympique Lyonnais, Aston Villa FC, FC Midtjylland, Real Betis, FC Porto, SC Braga, SC Freiburg and AS Roma advanced directly to the Round of 16. The remaining eight teams will be confirmed after tonight’s playoff matches.
If they progress, Fenerbahçe will face either Real Betis or Midtjylland. The Europa League Round of 16 matches will be played on March 12 and 19.
Conference league draw
The draw for the UEFA Europa Conference League Round of 16, which Samsunspor will join if they eliminate KF Shkëndija after winning the first leg 1–0, will take place at 16:00 (TSI).
In the Conference League league phase, RC Strasbourg Alsace, Raków Częstochowa, AEK Athens FC, AC Sparta Prague, Rayo Vallecano, FC Shakhtar Donetsk, 1. FSV Mainz 05 and AEK Larnaca FC advanced directly to the Round of 16.
If Samsunspor eliminate Shkëndija, they will face either Shakhtar Donetsk or Rayo Vallecano in the Round of 16. The Conference League Round of 16 matches will be played on March 12 and 19.
