UEFA Champions League: Galatasaray survives Juventus comeback to reach Round of 16

In the second leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 play-off, Galatasaray were defeated 3–2 after extra time by Juventus.

But Galatasaray advanced to the next round thanks to their 5–2 victory in the first leg, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.

The match at Allianz Stadium began with strong pressure from the home side. Juventus created dangerous chances through crosses from the wings and took a 1–0 lead in the 37th minute when Manuel Locatelli converted a penalty.

No further goals were scored before halftime, and Juventus went into the break leading 1–0.

Juventus maintained their intensity in the second half and, despite being reduced to 10 men early in the period, continued to threaten. Federico Gatti found the net in the 70th minute, and Weston McKennie made it 3–0 in the 82nd minute, sending the match into extra time.

In extra time, Victor Osimhen scored in the 105+1st minute to make it 3–1. Barış Alper Yılmaz added another goal in the 119th minute. Although Galatasaray lost 3–2 on the night, they progressed to the Round of 16 on aggregate thanks to their advantage from the first leg.
