Moldova to host Euro U17 in 2029

The Republic of Moldova is set to host another European Championship final tournament, after UEFA decided that the 2029 U17 EURO will be organized in the country.

The announcement was made by the UEFA Executive Committee, which approved the bid submitted by the Moldovan Football Federation, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

The UEFA Under-17 European Championship is considered a launching platform for future stars of European football, and the best junior national teams on the continent will come to Moldova to compete for the major trophy.

The success of the FMF bid also means the automatic qualification of Moldova’s U17 National Team for the 2029 final tournament, giving this generation of young players a historic opportunity.

The event marks the second European final tournament hosted by Moldova, after the organization of the U19 Futsal EURO at Arena Chișinău in 2025. The authorities and the FMF will begin preparations for the infrastructure required for the competition.
