Croatia has won its first gold medal at the 18th Summer European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Skopje, CE Report quotes HINA.

On the fourth day of competition, shooter Toma Tadić secured the medal by confirming his role as the favorite with the best performance in the 10m air rifle event, both in the preliminary round and the final.

Tadić was left without his coach in the morning, as the coach had to urgently travel to France, but that did not stop him from maintaining a steady hand and excellent focus in the final. By preserving his initial lead, he outperformed Amir Memišević from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The podium was completed by Greek athlete Konstantinos Sovolos.

"I’m happy to have brought Croatia its first gold medal here in Skopje. I hope it’s not the last at this event, and I also believe there will be more in my career," said Tadić, greeting his club teammates and friends from Dalmacijacement in Solin.

This is Croatia's fourth medal at the 2025 Summer EYOF, with the collection also including a silver in judo and two bronzes in swimming and badminton.
