Esposito Stays at Inter After Club World Cup Breakthrough
Pio Esposito will be part of the Inter squad for the 2025/2026 season, as the club has decided not to sell the young talent, despite great interest from within and outside Italy, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
After a good season with Spezia and an impressive performance during the Club World Cup – where he scored a crucial goal against River Plate – Esposito has convinced the Nerazzurri to stay in the first team. The decision was made by the club's board of directors, including Giuseppe Marotta, Piero Ausilio and Dario Bacci, who rejected 13 offers for the 19-year-old.
Among the clubs interested are well-known Italian teams such as Bologna, Napoli, Lazio, Fiorentina, Cagliari, Parma, Como, Sassuolo and Torino, as well as important foreign teams such as Basel, Leicester City, Ajax and Nottingham Forest. Offers have varied – from loans with an option to buy, to permanent transfers – but all have been rejected.
Cristian Chivu, the new coach of Inter, will have at his disposal a balanced group between established players and promising youngsters, and Pio Esposito is among the most important names expected to have a concrete role this season.
