From July 2 and running through July 13 (July 2–13, 2025), Kosovo and Albania will co-host the CEV U16 Women’s Volleyball European Championship.

The championship kicked off yesterday at the “Feti Borova” Olympic Park in Tirana, where entry was free, CE Report quotes ATA.

The Kosovo Volleyball Federation considers this event the most significant international volleyball competition ever held in Kosovo and one of the most important events in the country's sports history, as the strongest national teams in this age category from across the continent will compete in Kosovo.

Group A matches, taking place in Albania, include: Ukraine vs. Bulgaria; France vs. Poland; Albania vs. Spain; and Lithuania vs. Italy.

In Group B, Kosovo’s team faced Montenegro in their opening match. Other matches in this group include: Slovenia vs. Hungary; Greece vs. Turkey; and Czech Republic vs. Croatia.

This major tournament is being organized jointly for the first time by Kosovo and Albania — a significant opportunity to promote women’s sports and ensure worthy representation on the European stage.
