President of the Bulgarian Football Union (BFU), Georgi Ivanov, has been elected Vice-Chair of UEFA’s Football Committee, becoming the second-highest official on the body that oversees the sport’s development across Europe, CE Report quotes BTA

In addition to Ivanov, four other BFU leaders have also received key international appointments:

  • Andrey Petrov, BFU Executive Director, joins the HatTrick programme committee focused on football infrastructure.

  • Iveta Bankova, Deputy Executive Director and experienced UEFA delegate, joins the National Teams Competitions committee.

  • Dobrin Gyonov, Deputy Executive Director, is appointed to the committee on player status and transfers.

  • Kiril Kotev, BFU Technical Director, becomes part of UEFA’s Administrative Expert Panel.

These appointments reflect growing Bulgarian influence within European football governance.
