Guardiola Shows Solidarity with Gaza Children

Sports

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola expressed solidarity with the children of Gaza during a ceremony where he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Manchester. Speaking emotionally, Guardiola condemned the devastating impact of Israel's ongoing war on the enclave, which has claimed over 54,000 lives since October 2023, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

"This isn't about ideology," he said. "It's about the love of life, the care for your neighbor." Guardiola reflected on the toll of the war, saying he wakes up thinking of his own children and fears that such horrors could eventually reach others.

The tribute came as Guardiola was honored for his contributions to Manchester both on and off the field. Under his leadership, City has achieved historic success, including a record four consecutive Premier League titles and a treble in the 2022–23 season.
