In the dying moments, Sorloth capitalized on a quick counterattack to seal the victory for Atletico. The win boosts their points to 41 from 18 matches, ensuring they will end 2024 as league leaders.

Barcelona, with 38 points from 19 matches, now sit second. Real Madrid, in third with 37 points from 17 games, can overtake Barcelona if they beat Sevilla on Sunday.
