Romania’s Prosecutor’s Office with the Supreme Court of Justice and Cassation has signed a funding agreement to implement a strategic project to strengthen financial investigations and the recovery of criminal proceeds, CE Report quotes Agerpres

The project, “Strengthening Institutional Capacity in the Field of Financial Investigation and Recovery of Proceeds from Crime” (FIARS), is part of the Swiss-Romanian Cooperation Programme, funded by 11.76 million Swiss francs (10 million francs in Swiss grants).

The agreement, signed by the Ministry of Justice and the Prosecutor’s Office, aims to enhance the capabilities of prosecutors, judges, police, and financial investigators through training, international cooperation, and improved technology.

Key partners include the Basel Institute for Governance, the National Institute of Magistracy (INM), and the National Agency for the Administration of Impounded Assets (ANABI).
