Talks to Form New Government Begin Friday

Romania

Romanian President Nicusor Dan announced that initial talks with pro-European party leaders on forming the new government will start this Friday. “We had very good individual discussions, and a technical group is working daily to finalise negotiations by next week,” Dan said, CE Report quotes Agerpres

He clarified that no government positions will be assigned during Friday's meeting. Asked about the next Prime Minister, Dan said Ilie Bolojan is still a strong contender but acknowledged multiple alternatives. He also mentioned that a technocratic Prime Minister remains an option.

Dan expects a new government to be formed within two to three weeks, emphasising that taxes on labour should not increase.
