Romania Celebrates 148 Years of Independence
Romania’s interim president, Ilie Bolojan, marked National Independence Day by honoring the country’s historical milestones and emphasizing the enduring values of freedom, dignity, unity, and sovereignty, CE Report quotes Agerpres
“We are celebrating 148 years since Romania proclaimed its independence and 144 years since Carol I’s coronation and the establishment of the kingdom—key steps in building the modern Romanian state,” Bolojan said. He expressed gratitude to those who laid the foundation of a sovereign and united nation, stressing the importance of preserving and passing on these values.
Bolojan also highlighted the need for national unity to navigate current challenges and ensure Romania continues on its European path. “We must not lose the freedom and rights won through sacrifice 35 years ago. Romania needs the wisdom of every citizen,” he concluded.
