Croatia denies plans to liberalize visa regime for Pakistan

Politics

In response to inaccurate and misleading claims circulating in parts of the media and on social media, the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs has stressed that there are no plans to liberalize the visa regime for citizens of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, abolish visa requirements, or ease the conditions for issuing visas.

The only measure under consideration is allowing Pakistani citizens and businesspeople to submit visa applications in Islamabad instead of Iran, CE Report informs via the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs' official website.

This is solely an administrative and consular matter concerning the location where visa applications are submitted and does not involve increasing the number of work permits or visas issued.

Citizens of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan account for just 0.2% of the total number of foreign nationals who have been granted residence and work permits in the Republic of Croatia.
