Tate brothers detained following UK extradition request

British influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested in Miami, according to The Guardian.

The specific charges connected to the U.S. arrest have not yet been made public. The detention reportedly followed an extradition request from the United Kingdom, where Andrew Tate has been charged with rape, organizing or facilitating human trafficking for sexual exploitation, assault causing bodily harm, and 19 additional offenses, CE Report quotes ANSA.

The Tate brothers, who built a large online following through podcasts, social media content, and paid online courses, have been at the center of several criminal investigations in recent years. In 2022, Romanian authorities launched an investigation into allegations of human trafficking and forming an organized criminal group; the brothers have denied all wrongdoing in both Romania and the United Kingdom.

British prosecutors authorized charges against Andrew Tate in 2024, and the U.K. subsequently sought his extradition. The Miami arrest is the latest development in the ongoing legal proceedings involving the Tate brothers across multiple jurisdictions.
