Trump to attend G7 summit in France
US President Donald Trump will attend the G7 summit in France, scheduled for June 15-17, a White House official told AFP.
The leaders of the group of advanced economies, bringing together Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States, are set to meet in the resort of Evian, at the foot of the Alps, CE Report quotes AGERPRES.
The atmosphere is expected to be tense between the Republican billionaire and some of the heads of state and government expected in France, against whom he has launched numerous commercial and diplomatic offensives.
The war in Iran is an additional source of tension between Donald Trump and the other G7 leaders, whom the US president reproaches for not supporting the US military offensive or for not getting involved to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
