Trump says Iran’s missile capacity “running out”

U.S. President Donald Trump said that Iran’s weapons and missile capacity is “running out” and that the conflict could last 4–5 weeks or end within a few days.

In an interview with Politico, Trump commented on the clashes that began on February 28 with the joint U.S.-Israel strikes on Iran, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.

Trump argued that although Iran may continue missile attacks for some time, Tehran’s military capacity is steadily weakening.

He claimed that Iran is running out of targets, has suffered heavy losses, and its missile launch pads are nearly depleted.

“Our medium and high-grade ammunition and similar materials are unlimited. We keep them in reserve and produce more,” he said.

Trump added that defense companies are mobilized to produce the materials they need under emergency orders.

When asked if it might be too late to work with a new Iranian government, Trump said, “No, it’s not too late. 49 [high-level Iranian leaders] have been killed. Remember, that’s quite deep, isn’t it? New names are emerging. Many people want this position. Some would be very good.”

He also reiterated that the conflict could last 4–5 weeks or end within a few days.

U.S.-Israel attacks on Iran

Israel and the U.S. launched military strikes on Iran on February 28, while negotiations were ongoing between Tehran and Washington.

In response, Iran attacked targets in Israel and several regional countries hosting U.S. bases, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain.

The strikes by the U.S. and Israel killed Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and many high-ranking officials.

The Iranian Red Crescent reported that 787 people were killed in the U.S.-Israel attacks.
