North Macedonia, Türkiye launch educational and scientific cooperation initiative
North Macedonia and Türkiye are set to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of education, science, technology and innovations through an agreement signed by the countries' Ministers of Education, Vesna Janevska and Yusuf Tekin, respectively.
The two countries have agreed to cooperate and exchange information and academic publications in the fields of formal and informal education, incentivize the exchange of academicians, experts on education, teachers and high school students, CE Report quotes MIA.
Focus will be placed on vocational education, training and qualification of teachers and lifelong learning, training curricula, implementation of joint projects, and exchange of experiences on new education technologies, the Ministry of Education and Science said in a press release.
In addition, pupils will take part in scientific and cultural contests in both countries, along with the development of joint curricula and the twinning of schools. Optional subjects 'Language and Culture of Turks' and 'Language and Culture of Macedonians' will also be introduced, as well as scholarships for high school students.
A joint working group will oversee the agreement's implementation, reads the press release.
