George Clooney criticizes Kamala Harris’s candidacy

Hollywood actor George Clooney has said it was a “mistake” for Kamala Harris to take Joe Biden’s place as the Democratic nominee to face Donald Trump in the last U.S. presidential election.

The actor added that he has no regrets about the op-ed he published in The New York Times in July 2024, in which he called on Biden to withdraw from the race, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

In that article, titled “I Love Joe Biden. But We Need a New Nominee,” Clooney wrote that while Biden had won many battles, “the one he cannot win is the fight against time.”

Clooney criticized the way Harris had to confront her political past, making her victory difficult, and said:

“I think it was a mistake, honestly.”

His comments came after Hunter Biden sharply reacted, accusing the actor of exaggerating the former president’s weakness.

In his CBS interview, Clooney added that he would write the article again and that Democrats missed an opportunity to hold an internal primary to choose the strongest candidate.

Meanwhile, in her first interview in Britain, Kamala Harris confirmed that she may run for president again, expressing her belief that one day a woman will lead the White House.
