
Mitsotakis Pushes Sustainable Growth in Skiathos
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited Skiathos on Saturday, where he chaired a meeting with local officials and business leaders focused on infrastructure, tourism, and environmental protection, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonia
He highlighted the importance of launching the island’s marina project soon, calling it a “landmark” for eco-friendly tourism and local development. He also emphasized plans to strengthen the Alonissos Northern Sporades National Marine Park, calling it a “flagship marine protection project” that inspired two new parks in the Ionian and South Aegean.
Mitsotakis urged collaboration with local communities to turn the park into a model for sustainable development, using modern technology as a key tool. He said it would serve as a blueprint for the upcoming marine parks expected to launch within a year.
Reaffirming his commitment to connecting with all regions of Greece, the Prime Minister pledged to continue touring the country, stressing the need for cooperation between local and central government. He also warned against divisive rhetoric, urging local communities to focus on problem-solving and dialogue over political tension.
