
Mitsotakis: No Talks on Sovereignty
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis reaffirmed in an interview with SKAI TV that Greece will not engage in any dialogue with Türkiye concerning issues of sovereignty. “Greece will never accept grey zone theories or allow Türkiye to dictate what we do within our sovereign territory,” he said, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonia
He expressed hope for continued calm relations with Türkiye, noting progress in reducing tensions and managing migration more effectively. Mitsotakis reiterated that the only issue between the two nations is the delimitation of maritime zones and the continental shelf.
He confirmed plans to meet President Erdogan during the upcoming UN General Assembly and said the next High Cooperation Council meeting would be held at the appropriate time.
Addressing concerns over marine parks, he emphasized they are an environmental initiative within Greek territorial waters, which are defined by islands that unquestionably belong to Greece.
