
Romanian FM Visits Chisinau
Romanian Foreign Minister Oana Toiu paid her first official visit to Chisinau on Tuesday, meeting with Moldovan President Maia Sandu, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, and Prime Minister Dorin Recean, CE Report quotes AGERPRES
She also held talks with Moldovan Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi, focusing on Moldova’s EU accession, bilateral cooperation in energy, infrastructure, culture, and Romanian language, as well as efforts to strengthen Moldova’s stability and resilience.
Toiu reaffirmed the full support of Romanian leaders for Moldova’s European aspirations, emphasizing the deep historical and linguistic ties between the two countries. Discussions also covered key infrastructure projects like the Suceava–Balti and Vulcanesti–Chisinau energy lines, improved border crossings, and regional security.
She met with Romanian business representatives in Moldova and highlighted joint efforts to counter hybrid threats and enhance economic and energy independence.
