Moldova Parliament Passes Social Reforms
In June, Moldova's Parliament held five plenary sessions, adopting 45 normative acts — including 39 laws and six decisions, according to its public relations department, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES
Key measures passed include vacation vouchers for employees, a 3,000 lei allowance for young professionals in strategic sectors, and the creation of National Fathers’ Day. Fathers of twins or triplets will now receive extended leave and adjusted allowances.
Lawmakers also ratified international agreements in education and cybersecurity and adopted a declaration supporting Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity.
In the first reading, Parliament approved amendments to the 2025 state budget, which include a 1,000 lei one-off aid for students in grades I–IX, increased Chernobyl-related benefits, and higher public internship scholarships. Other proposals include new freelancer regulations and a revised citizenship law.
