Trump Gives Iran 2 Weeks
U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday dismissed the idea of pressuring Israel to stop its attacks on Iran, saying Israel is "winning" the conflict and suggesting it’s "hard" to intervene under those conditions. Speaking in New Jersey, Trump warned Iran has a "maximum" of two weeks to return to negotiations before the U.S. considers military action, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency
His remarks came after Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi expressed conditional openness to diplomacy if Israeli aggression stops and accountability is ensured. Trump downplayed ongoing European diplomatic efforts, claiming Iran prefers direct talks with the U.S. and that Europe "won’t be able to help."
Trump also reiterated concerns about Iran’s nuclear capabilities, alleging the country could develop a nuclear weapon within weeks—an accusation Iran denies, insisting its program is solely civilian.
The conflict began June 13 with Israeli strikes on Iranian targets, prompting Iranian retaliation. Iranian reports say 639 people have died and over 1,300 were injured. Israel reports 25 deaths and hundreds wounded from Iranian missile attacks.
