Greece's Unemployment Hits 17-Year Low
Greece's unemployment rate has fallen from 10.8% in April 2024 to 8.3% in April 2025, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced on Saturday. This marks the country's lowest unemployment rate in 17 years, now lower than that of Sweden, Finland, and Spain, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian
Youth unemployment has also dropped significantly, from 24% to 20.4%, and unemployment among women fell from 13.6% to 10.8%. Mitsotakis credited the decline to lower taxation, increased investment, and fewer obstacles for entrepreneurs.
"Unemployment is dropping. Greece moves ahead. We continue!" he said.
