Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has unveiled plans for a new national authority to oversee the market and protect consumers. Modeled on successful Scandinavian systems, this body will unify services like inspections, complaints, and dispute settlements. In a cabinet meeting, Mitsotakis also discussed stricter penalties for illegal migration and emphasized the effectiveness of Greece’s border measures. Cooperation with Turkey and the Evros fence have significantly reduced flows. He called on the EU to help fund border infrastructure, highlighting its European-wide importance.

Additionally, Mitsotakis addressed reforms at OPEKEPE, Greece’s agricultural payments authority, pledging full transparency in the agricultural sector.
