Erdogan Marks Youth and Ataturk Day

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan commemorated Ataturk, Youth and Sports Day on Monday, marking the 105th anniversary of the start of Türkiye’s War of Independence in 1919, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

In a message shared via the Communications Directorate, Erdogan highlighted May 19 as a pivotal moment in Turkish history and praised the youth as the driving force behind Türkiye’s future. He emphasized their role in realizing the vision of a "Century of Türkiye" and affirmed the government's commitment to supporting young people in fields ranging from science and sports to diplomacy and nuclear technology.

Erdogan also paid tribute to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and the heroes of the War of Independence, reiterating his pledge to build a prosperous, peaceful, and technologically advanced Türkiye for future generations.
