Nearly 18 million Romanians are expected to vote on Sunday, May 18, in the final round of the presidential election, choosing between George Simion (Alliance for the Union of Romanians - AUR) and independent candidate Nicușor Dan, CE Report quotes Agerpres

A total of 18,979 polling stations will operate across the country, with 1,289 in Bucharest and 965 abroad. Voting will take place from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with extensions allowed for those in line until 11:59 PM.

Voters must present valid Romanian-issued ID. Those abroad or with domicile abroad may also vote using passports. Individuals with new electronic ID cards missing printed domicile data will be added to a supplementary list, with authorities verifying their eligibility in real time.

Non-transportable voters may request a mobile ballot box, and accessible stations are available for those with limited mobility.

In the May 4 first round, Simion led with 40.96% of the vote, followed by Dan with 20.99%. Voter turnout was 53.19%.
