The Madrigal – Marin Constantin National Chamber Choir, led by Anna Ungureanu, concluded its international tour The Silk Road in Kazakhstan, promoting Romanian cultural heritage and fostering ties with Central Asia, CE Report quotes Agerpres

Held with the support of Romanian Ambassador Madalina Lupu, the tour featured performances at iconic Kazakh locations: the Astana Opera House, the National Museum, the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation, and the UNESCO site of Otrar. More than 4,000 people attended, including diplomats, youth, and cultural figures.

Highlights included the premiere of The Silk Road concert in Astana, which blended Romanian and Central Asian music with striking visuals; the launch of the album National Anthems of the Central Asian States; and a special Madrigal for Babies concert tailored for very young audiences.

The Choir also filmed a new Ode to Joy video for Europe Day and a modern Romanian composition in the ancient ruins of Otrar as part of the Romanian Contemporary Music in Ancient Universal Sites series.

Kazakhstan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Roman Vassilenko praised the initiative as a landmark cultural moment. The tour marked another major event in the Marin Constantin 100 anniversary year, reinforcing the Madrigal Choir’s role as a global cultural ambassador.
