CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues called the move a bold statement of Brazil’s ambition to return to the top of world football. Ancelotti, widely regarded as one of the greatest managers in football history, will lead the national team through the 2026 World Cup.
The 65-year-old Italian will start with World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay next month. During his time with Real Madrid, Ancelotti won three UEFA Champions League titles, two FIFA Club World Cups, three UEFA Super Cups, and two La Liga titles.
