Moldovans Urged to Vote in Romanian Runoff

Politics

Moldovans holding Romanian citizenship are encouraged to participate in Romania’s presidential runoff elections taking place this weekend, May 16–18. Government spokesperson Daniel Vodă called the vote “a unique opportunity” to influence Romania’s direction for the next five years, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Voting will take place under the same conditions as the first round, with 64 polling stations open across Moldova—from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM each day. These include 18 stations in the North, 38 in the Center (including 20 in Chișinău), and 8 in the South.

Vodă emphasized Romania's ongoing support for Moldova, especially in the European integration process, and underscored the shared language, culture, and identity between the two nations. He urged all dual citizens to actively engage in shaping Romania’s future by casting their votes.
