Mitsotakis Meets Merz in Berlin

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will visit Berlin on Tuesday for a key meeting with newly appointed German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The two leaders will meet at the Chancellery at 13:00 (Athens time), where Mitsotakis will be received with military honours. A joint press conference is scheduled for 14:30, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian

This marks Merz’s first official reception of a European leader since taking office. Talks will focus on bilateral relations, EU cooperation, and international policy, with migration expected to be a major topic, according to German government spokesperson Stefan Cornelius.

In the evening, Mitsotakis will address the annual conference of the Economic Council Germany as the guest of honour, where he will be recognized for his government’s economic reforms and Greece’s recovery.
