Turkey Urges Russia, Ukraine to Declare Ceasefire

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has called on Russia and Ukraine to sit at the negotiating table "as soon as possible" and declare a ceasefire, ahead of expected talks between Moscow and Kyiv on Thursday in Turkey.

“We urge the parties to meet as soon as possible and declare a ceasefire. We hope this happens,” Fidan said during a joint press conference in Ankara with his Syrian and Jordanian counterparts, Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani and Ayman Safadi, broadcast by TRT, CE Report quotes ANSA.

Fidan expressed confidence that “in the coming days the parties will sit down at the table to find a solution.”
