Romania’s Defence Minister Angel Tîlvăr emphasized the vital role of every Romanian soldier in ensuring national security, regardless of where they are deployed, during a recent videoconference with military leadership and troops stationed abroad, CE Report quotes Agerpres

According to the Ministry of Defence, commanders from Romanian detachments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, and the Central African Republic briefed officials on local security conditions and mission progress.

"Whether supporting NATO missions in the Baltics, EU operations in Africa, or NATO battle groups in Eastern Europe, Romanian soldiers represent our country with professionalism and honor," Tîlvăr stated, noting appreciation from international allies.

Chief of the Defence Staff General Gheorghiță Vlad commended troops for their performance and encouraged them to uphold Romania’s military values, even during the Easter holidays. He also extended gratitude to their families for their continued support.

Romania currently leads EU operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina (EUFOR ALTHEA) and the Central African Republic (EUTM RCA), with around 1,500 Romanian soldiers deployed under NATO, EU, and UN mandates.
